25 Essential Kitesurfing Equipments No Matter What

Kitesurfing is a very complex sport, no matter if you are a beginner or and expert, and to have a successful day of sail you depend on some factors: wind, sea, equipment, ability and attention using the kite. A small error can finish the day, or even hurt somebody, as already it happened many times.

This checklist is for each stage of sail. The KITESURFING CHECKLIST must always be followed. It is never excessively to work in favor of the security.

Here are the essential kitesurfing equipments:

Before going to sail:

Check if equipment is complete:

  3. If you see kitesurfers: observe the course of the sail and the standard of the sail/take-off/landing.
  4. If you don’t see kitesurfers, observes well to choose optimum place of take-off and landing, being alert for obstacles and gusts.
  5. Don’t take off the kite in places that looks dangerous, look for another place.

When mounting the equipment:

  1. When preparing the board verify:
    1. the firmness of the handles or boots.
    2. holes that indicate beginning of breaking.
    3. firmness of the keels.
  2. When extending the lines, verify:
    1. the existence of us or beginning of disruption.
    2. connections in the extensions and the bar.
    3. bar, line of trapeze, chicken Loop (it will be had).
    4. systems of quick-release and safety leash.
  3. When inflating the kite, verify:
    1. the integrity of the fabric (rips, punctures, reinforcements, sewing).
    2. integrity of the inflatable ones (if these keep the pressure after inflated).W
  4. When connecting the lines in the kite, verify:
    1. the correct connection of each line in each terminal of the kite.
    2. integrity of the terminals of the kite.
    3. functioning of the system of bridle (lines of control of the kite).
  5. Verify the trapeze and security system.

When taking off the kite:

  1. Always be with someone else to help:
  2. Check if ALL the inflatable are with correct pressure.
  3. Check if the lines and bridles are connected correctly.
  4. Connect safety leash.
  5. Place the kite in the correct angle for lesser pressure.
  6. Your partner must be prepared to leave the kite when your ready.
